How It Works
From your first message to your Q&A call — here's exactly what to expect, step by step.
Submit Your Intake Form
Start by filling out the intake form on the Contact page. Tell us a little about your child, what documents you have, and what you're hoping to understand. No uploads at this stage — just a description of your situation.
We Reach Out to Confirm
Within 1–2 business days, we'll follow up by email to let you know if we can take on your case. If we can, we'll explain next steps and answer any initial questions. If we're not the right fit, we'll do our best to point you in a helpful direction.
Securely Upload Your Documents
Once confirmed, we'll send a secure upload link tied to your family only — typically a private Google Drive folder protected by your email. You'll share your child's IEP, evaluation, or related school documents through this link, never by plain email. All documents are handled with full confidentiality and deleted within 30 days of completion.
We Prepare Your Written Summary
We carefully review your documents and create a personalized written summary in plain language. This includes a section-by-section breakdown, key findings highlighted, important terms explained, and — for IEP Prep clients — a neutral list of questions you may want to raise with your school team.
Turnaround is typically 3–5 business days after we receive your documents.
Your Q&A or Prep Call
We meet by video call to walk through your summary together. You can ask questions, get clarification on anything in the documents, and — for IEP Prep clients — think through what to expect at your meeting.
Your personalized breakdown
Every client receives a written breakdown specific to their child's documents — not a generic template. Here's what's included depending on your service:
- Plain-language translation of each section
Technical content rewritten in clear language without losing the meaning.
- Key results and scores explained
What the numbers mean, what average ranges look like, and what to pay attention to.
- Glossary of terms in your document
Definitions of the specific jargon that appears in your child's report — not a generic list.
- Questions to consider (IEP Prep only)
A neutral list of questions you may want to ask the school team — based on what's in your specific documents.
